I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains because I love the outdoors. Hiking through the forest makes me focus on the flowers, birds, sounds, dappled light and shadow, animal signs—all of these things contain secrets revealed to those who are watchful. I often return to my studio with inspiration to paint scenes I remember.
